Fritz Rieber, who is a board member in the selling entities, does not hold any shares in Rieber & Søn ASA, but related parties of him holds in aggregate 1, shares. Orkla will make a mandatory offer to the remaining shareholders in Rieber & Søn based on the same purchase price per share that is being paid to the Rieber family. Rieber & Søn ASA is a Norwegian multinational food company that currently has fully-owned production units in seven European countries and sales and market offic es in a further six countries. Orkla Brands AS (OBAS) has today completed its acquisition of 69,, shares in Rieber & Søn ASA (RIE), cf. press release of today. After the acquisition OBAS owns % of the shares in RIE. As a consequence of the acquisition OBAS has resolved to make a mandatory offer for all remaining shares of RIE not already owned by OBAS. Rieber & Søn is one of Norway’s leading food groups. The main markets are the Nordic countries and Central and Eastern Europe where the Group has considerable market shares. Around 25 brands are sold by Rieber & Søn’s business units in their home markets, and the Group is also a major exporter and supplier of products to the food service market and other food manufacturers.
